You don’t have to explain it perfectly

“I just don't feel
like myself.”

That’s a reasonable place to start. Maybe your sleep has changed, intimacy feels different, or you’re noticing changes in your energy, mood, or body.

We’ll talk through what you’re experiencing rather than assume it’s all hormones. Your medical history, current medications, daily routines, and other health concerns all matter.

At Pique Medical, you work directly with a nurse practitioner to understand the next steps and discuss care that fits your needs.

Different needs. The same personal approach.

Find your starting point.

You don’t need to diagnose yourself or select a hormone treatment before making an appointment.

For women in midlife

More support for
a changing season.

Perimenopause and menopause can bring hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, and vaginal dryness or discomfort. Your experience may be different from someone else’s.

We’ll review your symptoms and history, consider other possible contributors, and discuss appropriate hormonal and nonhormonal options.

A visit centered on you.

  • What has changed in your cycle, sleep, or daily life?
  • Which symptoms are most bothersome?
  • What is your personal and family medical history?
  • What have you tried, and what concerns do you have?
  • What are your priorities for treatment?

Understand your options.

Discuss treatment approaches that fit your symptoms, preferences, and health history.

Make an informed choice.

Hormone therapy has benefits and risks. The decision is individual, with time to ask questions.

Review as things change.

Follow-up creates space to discuss your experience, tolerability, and whether the plan still fits.

Hormone therapy isn’t appropriate for everyone and is not prescribed simply because you’ve reached a certain age. Testing is selected based on your clinical needs.

For men with hormone-related concerns

Start with an evaluation.
Not an assumption.

Changes in libido, sexual function, or energy can prompt questions about testosterone. These concerns can have more than one cause.

We’ll consider your symptoms, medical history, medications, and relevant testing. Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is considered when the evaluation supports a diagnosis and treatment is appropriate.

What we consider.

  • Your symptoms and when they began
  • Relevant health conditions and medications
  • Sleep, weight, and metabolic health
  • Current or future fertility goals
  • Testing, treatment risks, and monitoring needs

A careful diagnosis.

Low testosterone is assessed using symptoms and consistently low laboratory results, including repeat morning testing.

A considered decision.

TRT is not automatically appropriate for fatigue, aging, or a single test result. We’ll discuss the findings and options.

Ongoing monitoring.

If treatment is prescribed, follow-up and appropriate laboratory monitoring are part of care.

Tell us if you are trying to conceive or may want children. Testosterone therapy can reduce sperm production, so fertility goals need to be discussed before treatment.

Connected care

Your health doesn't
fit into separate boxes.

Hormone concerns often arrive alongside questions about weight, sleep, thyroid health, fatigue, or preventive care. Your appointment is a place to talk about the whole picture.

We’ll help you prioritize what needs attention, discuss appropriate evaluation, and build a practical plan for follow-up.

2

Discuss your history, symptoms, goals, and any appropriate testing. Labs are completed through outside facilities.

3

Choose your next steps.

Review treatment options, costs, and follow-up. A prescription is based on clinical appropriateness and is not guaranteed.

Care that fits your life

Local care.
Flexible follow-up.

Visit in person in Manteno, Illinois, or by telehealth when clinically appropriate and permitted by state licensure rules. You must be physically located in an eligible state during the appointment.

This can make follow-up more practical for patients in rural communities. Some needs still require an in-person exam, local testing, or specialty care.

Know what to expect.

Booking: Current visit fees and appointment options are listed on our Book Now page.

Separate costs: Medications, labs, imaging, and other services are separate unless specifically included in your plan.

Ongoing care: Visit-based care is available. If you want broader primary care support, we can discuss Core Care and clarify what it includes.

Before your first appointment

Your questions, answered.

Do I need to know whether I need HRT or TRT?

No. Book a new patient visit and tell us what you’re experiencing. We’ll evaluate your concerns and discuss appropriate options. Hormone treatment is not automatically recommended.

Can I discuss perimenopause if I still have periods?

Yes. You can seek evaluation for changing symptoms before your periods have stopped. Your symptoms, cycle history, age, and medical history help guide the discussion and any appropriate testing.

What if my previous labs were normal?

Bring the results if you have them. We’ll review them in the context of your symptoms and history. Normal results do not mean your concerns should be dismissed, and symptoms alone do not establish a hormone deficiency.

Does everyone need a large hormone panel?

No. We recommend testing based on the clinical question and your individual needs. Some concerns call for targeted labs, repeat testing, or evaluation for other causes.

Are there options besides hormone therapy?

Yes. Depending on your symptoms and evaluation, the conversation may include nonhormonal treatments, lifestyle support, or evaluation of other health concerns.

Will I automatically receive testosterone?

No. Treatment decisions depend on symptoms, a supported diagnosis, medical history, risks, and goals. Low testosterone requires consistent laboratory findings rather than a single result. Follow-up and monitoring are needed if TRT is prescribed.

Do I have to join a membership?

No. Start with a new patient visit. If you also want ongoing primary care, we can discuss the optional Core Care membership separately and explain which visits, medications, labs, or other services cost extra.

Can I continue care if I already take hormones?

Bring your current prescription information, recent labs, and relevant records. We’ll review your treatment history and discuss whether ongoing care with Pique Medical is appropriate. Prescriptions and refill arrangements require clinical review.

Can follow-up visits be virtual?

Often, when clinically appropriate and permitted by state licensure rules. Your location, treatment, testing needs, and the concern being addressed determine what is appropriate. Confirm eligibility when booking.

Where can I read more about hormone care?

Patient education: ACOG: Hormone Therapy for Menopause and Endocrine Society: Hypogonadism in Men. These resources provide general information; your care plan depends on your evaluation.
